From the Rees to the Dart
Camping here overnight in my camper van, I grabbed my pants as I saw the evening light touching this scene. I knew it was too late to do a big painting so I whipped out this little 10 x 13”, which would’ve been thoroughly laughed at by my Painting mentor and good friend John Crump, who was of the opinion, go huge or go home! They sure is something nice about being able to step into a big painting, but I also like the gem like quality of a small piece like this. In the morning, I had quite a quick bath in the frigid waters running under the Rees bridge. My Mum used to hassle me about my 20 minute showers. She would’ve been proud of my 20 second bath.
