Chinaman’s Bluff and the back of Brad Pitt‘s head
I don't know if you can see him but there's Brad Pitt standing just up there, kind of in the middle. As we were busy painting here there were about 50 people busy shooting a film called “Heart of the Beast" right there. The movie is set in Alaska apparently, and I guess this is a suitable fill in when it's too cold to film there. Anyway we finished our paintings and drove slowly through the film set which was on the road out and I snapped a photo of the back of Brad Pitt’s head on the way through. So close! 😆 Update Sep 21, 2026: I just saw the movie, Heart of the Beast, last night, a year later. It did not disappoint. It was great to see Glenorchy on the big screen, and I could recognise at least half of the locations as some of my favorite painting spots. Spoiler alert, Brad and his faithful dog Odin have to trek through 100km of wilderness to get to the road. Funny thing for me was knowing they were usually within 100m of the road, so that de-dramatised it a tad. “Mate, just head to your right, yep, just past that big tree and there’s the road back to Glenorchy - get a cappuccino at the cafe - really very good!” Great movie though. Highly recommended.
